Peggy and Lamar Powell were remarkable people. They were known and respected by just about everyone in the Wiregrass and beyond. May the Good Lord grant peace and comfort to Peggy's family and friends.
Rhonda and I both have fond memories of your parents. I started working in 1965-1969. It’s unbelievable now that they trusted a group of teenagers to collect cash on handwritten tickets and at the end of the day after closing put it in a Dairy Queen bag in the freezer and Peggy would come the next morning and collect it and do the tally. Through the hard work and lessons they taught me I was able to buy my first car. I have fond memories of my coworkers and those times. Wishing you much comfort through your loss. Dennis and Philip, So sorry to hear about your mother passing. I first met her and Lamar in 1971, when we first moved to Ozark. We lived next door to y'all on South Union. I made many trips across the street to the Dairy Queen while I lived there. Prayers up to your family at this time. My God Bless the Powell family.
One of the sweetest beings I've ever met. Her brilliant demeanor left a great impact on my life all of these years. This is a precious jewel that will forever be missed. Prayers to her beautiful family.
Where do you start to pay tribute to a great friend whom has been close for a majority of my life. Peggy and Lamar were great friends to many in Ozark and helped a lot of young men and women who worked in their Dairy Queen and King. From taking me under their wings to introduce me to camping to taking us on football bowl trips and times on Lake Eufaula. We know Peggy is reunited with Lamar and all her family that have preceded her and in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We know all her family will receive your comfort from your faith knowing where her soul is. We thank God for the life of Peggy Williams Powell.

Pat and I are so sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing. Dennis and Philip, we are praying for you and your families. Oh how we loved Peggy! She was alway a ray of sunshine and we had some wonderful times and great memories with her and Lamar. She can rest now. Thank you Peggy for being such a wonderful influence in our lives.
Since I was 14 years old, Mrs. Powell treated me like I was one of her sons. She provided shelter, sustenance, a safe place to be a kid and an example of how to be an adult. To me, she was the original Iron Lady, capable of doing anything. She knew when to be stern, when to be compassionate, when to teach, when to hold you accountable, but most of all she knew how to make you feel loved.
