Obituary of Kirby Joseph Bergeron

Mr. Kirby Joseph Bergeron, 75, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday, February 12, 2020, in Birmingham following a brief illness. A private family memorial service for Mr. Bergeron will be held at a later date. Mr. Bergeron was born August 21, 1944 in Big Cane, Louisiana to the late Curley Bergeron and Leah Aymond Bergeron. He joined the United States Navy October 1962 where he served as a Corpsman. On June 1, 1977 he married his wife Donna Parker in Mississippi. Kirby was a tugboat captain in Louisiana and Mississippi where he worked with LaLand Towing and Inland Rivers Transport (IRT). Following his retirement, they moved to Alabama in 2004 where he was a Star Valley area volunteer fire fighter. Kirby lived to fish, hunt and eat crawfish. He enjoyed raising his chickens. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Donna LuAnn Parker Bergeron; one daughter, Tanya (Robert Waldron) Bundy; one son, Jeffery (Nancy) Cramer all of Ozark; five grandchildren, Rico Bergeron, Joshua Bishop, Jonathan Cramer, Amelia Bundy, and Joseph Bundy; and one brother, Michael Bergeron; one son-in-law, Robert Bundy.
