Mr. Roberto “Robert” Albornoz Gomez, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, September 10, 2020, at his home. He was 52 years old. A private memorial service will be held for Mr. Gomez at a later date. Mr. Gomez was born August 8, 1968 in Havana, Cuba where he attended Hermanos Gomez High School and graduated in 1988. Robert served for three years in the Cuban Army. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1995 where he met his wife, Kathy Padgett and they were married in 2006. Robert was an actor in Cuba, enjoyed riding bicycles, raising pigeons and working with wood. He was preceded in death by his father, Agustin Albornoz Estrada; and three brothers, Agustin Albornoz, Fidel Albornoz and Manuel Albornoz. Survivors include his wife of fourteen years, Kathy Padgett of Ozark; his mother, Josefa Gomez Collado of Havana Cuba; three sisters, Miriam Albornoz and Dalia Albornoz both of Havana, Cuba, and Duria Albornoz of Denver, Colorado; five brothers, Nelson Albornoz (Haiydee) of Miami, Florida, Hector Albornoz and Rafael Albornoz both of Havana, Cuba, Diosvani Albornoz (Yaima) of Atlanta, Georgia, Rogelio Albornoz of Norcross, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Attention; Tribute Department, St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
