Obituary of William Albert Trawick

Mr. William Albert Trawick, a life-long citizen of the Pinckard area, retired business owner, and retired Dale County Road and Bridge employee reposed naturally on February 22, 2025 at his home. A remembrance service will be held at Newton City Cemetery on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm for anyone wanting to pay respects and share a memory. All are welcome. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements. May the daylilies bloom a little sweeter this year to remember him by. Albert was a successful businessman, opening his grocery store in Newton and running it for many years, a gifted cook and butcher, accomplished gardener, machinery enthusiast and zero-turn expert. In his younger years, he was a talented horse-breaker and football player. He took great joy in nourishing his community with his cooking. Many will remember his hearty meals at the Pinckard Methodist Church and his Christmas treat deliveries that eventually became ‘any time of year’ treat deliveries. He loved a good joke, maybe the occasional prank or two, and could tell a story with such detail, you felt like you were there. He remembered every person he ever met and truly made a friend out of everyone. Albert was a passionate citizen who cared deeply for his community. Albert is survived by his heart and soul, JoAnne Childree Trawick; his beloved daughters, Sherree Smith and Terressa Lewis; his cherished granddaughter, Marlee Brewer; his great grandchildren, Oswald (His Little Buddy) and Beatrice (born on his birthday in 2024.) He is predeceased by his father and mother, Ellis and Annie Katherine Trawick. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
