Obituary of Shirline Clark
Mrs. Shirline Walkup Clark, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was 83 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clark will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Eric Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Rhoades Cemetery in Kinston, Alabama, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Clark was born October 27, 1941 in Santa Cruz, California to the late Benjamin Franklin Walkup and Martha Marie Cox Walkup. She attended Monterey High School in California. Her family moved to Montgomery in 1958 where she met and married Robert Roland Clark. She worked as a key-punch operator for the State of Alabama. In 1973 they moved to Ozark where she worked with White Knight Manufacturing, Dr. Robert Crosby Optometry and Winn Dixie. She retired from the Dale County Health Department in 2006. Mrs. Clark was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and was active in Sunday School, W. M. U. and Serving Hands Sewing and Quilting Group. She loved to bake and cook for her family, crochet, play softball and volleyball. She was an Alabama football fan and enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, playing rook, lake trips, road trips and traveling. She loved her fur-baby, Rodie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Infant Ethel Walkup, Anita Keith and Wana Crisel; and four brothers, Danny Walkup, Bill Walkup, David Walkup and Bennie Walkup.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Robert Clark of Ozark; one daughter, Shirley Bass (Chuck Gardner); two sons, Chuck Clark (Lisa) and Brady Clark (Nichole) all of Ozark; one twin sister, Sharline Tuggey (Fred) of California; one brother, Wayne Walkup (Diana) of Kingman, Arizona; eight grandchildren, David Clark (Skye), Reid Cutshall (Kass), Robert Bonds (Macenze), Ashley Mostella (Justin), Sydney Matyjasik (Conner), Matthew Bass, Lillie Garza, and Taylor Garza; six great grandchildren, Brooklen Bonds, Taelor Bonds, Luna Matyjasik, Declan Bonds, Hayes Mostella, and Brantley Mostella.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Rhoades Community House, C/O Lejune Davis, 3044 Highway 189, Kinston, Alabama 36453.
