Obituary of JoAnne Childree Trawick

Mrs. JoAnne Childree Trawick, a resident of Pinckard, died Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was 87 years old. A private graveside service for Mrs. Trawick will be held at a later date. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark has been entrusted with the arrangements. Mrs. Trawick was born July 15, 1938 in Dale County to the late Major Sam Childree and Annie Beatrice Peacock Childree. She and her late husband owned and operated a grocery store in Newton for many years. Mrs. Trawick loved her family, gardening and crafting; but most of all she loved reading and studying her Bible. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Trawick. Survivors include her beloved daughters, Sherree Smith and Terressa Lewis; her cherished granddaughter, Marlee Brewer; her great grandchildren, Oswald and Beatrice; and one brother, Sam Childree, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Donations, 1 Metroplex Drive, Suite 230, Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
