Mrs. Faye Farmer Whitman, a life-long resident of Ozark, died Saturday night, January 31, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was 93 years old.
A private graveside service will be held for Mrs. Whitman in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Ms. Jamie Mathews officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Whitman was born April 9, 1932 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Albert C. Farmer and Ella Gray Farmer. She worked with White Knight and Judy Bond until her retirement. After her retirement, she worked with WalMart in Ozark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years; Roy Howard Whitman; one son, James Albert Whitman; and one sister, Connie Farmer Peacock; and four brothers, Bibb Farmer, Jim Farmer, Guy Farmer, and Cecil Farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Myron Whitman (Debbie) and Joe Whitman; two daughters, Barbara Wambles (Tommy) and Becky Stafford (David) all of Ozark; and her daughter-in-law, Karen Whitman. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews survive.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Dale Medical Center for the loving care of their Mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to the Ozark-Dale County Humane Society, P. O. 2502, Ozark, Alabama 36361.
