Mr. Frank Anthony Makowski, age 85, of Ozark, died Thursday afternoon, April 19, 2007 at his home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Monday, April 23, 2007 from St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Reverend Paul Egbe and Reverend Brendan Keller officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon. Frank was born July 9, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the youngest of three brothers and four sisters. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in January 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945 at the end of World War II. He worked for aviation contractors at Army bases in Missouri and Texas until settling in Ozark in 1959. He worked for the Department of the Army in the Flight Simulator division at Ft. Rucker from 1966 until his retirement in 1989. Frank was an active member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, a member of the Knight's of Columbus, and the St. John's Men's Club. Mr. Makowski was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice Kensaka Makowski and Francis Leo Makowski, four sisters, Alice Prusak, Virginia Walters, Lou Janowiak, and Annie Makowksi, two brothers, Ed Makowski and Mick Makowski. He leaves behind, Theresa Makowski, his most beloved and dedicated wife of 58 wonderful years, three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Wes Walters of Alexandria, Virginia, Marcia and Garry Castelli of Belleville, Illinois, and Mary and Marlin Brandon of Ozark, two sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Makowski of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Phil Makowski and Trita Corbitt of Ozark, eight grandchildren, Kristin Walters, Adam, Rachael, and Andrew Castelli, Nick and David Makowski, Chris and Tyler Brandon. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 1008, Ozark, Alabama 36361, or to your favorite charity. Service Information
