Mrs. Sara Carmichael Mims Crooks, age 93, of Ozark, died early Saturday morning, January 7, 2006, in Birmingham following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, January 9, 2005 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Crooks was born December 13, 1912 in Monette, Arkansas to the late Maude Mahalia Thompson Mims and Alexander Dowsing Mims. She had made her home in Ozark since 1949 and had worked for 30 years with Civil Service at Fort Rucker until her retirement with the Aviation Test Board. She was of the Methodist Faith. Survivors include her husband, James E. Crooks, Ozark, her daughter, Olivia Ann Crooks, Dallas, Texas, her sister-in-law, Gaynell Crooks Dildy, Ozark, and her brother-in-law, Perk Crooks, Ozark.
