Mrs. Jewell Skinner Williams, 90, of Newton, died Monday, November 1, 2004, in Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, November 3, 2004, in Holman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Roberts and Reverend Craig Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Tuesday evening. Mrs. Williams was born in Geneva County on November 25, 1913 to the late Laura Camilla Jones Skinner and William Berry Skinner. She lived most of her adult life in Newton where she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Newton Senior Citizens Club. Mrs. Williams worked with Westex in Headland until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lewis Vernon "Bud" Williams, two sisters, Callie Norris and Ethel Watson, and two brothers, Gus Skinner and Dolph Skinner. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James L. "Pete" and Glenda Williams, Newton, three grandchildren, Gregory Williams, Newton, Jeffery Williams and his wife, Stephanie, Newton, and Deborah Perkins, Durham, North Carolina. Nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Williams's special caregivers will serve as honorary pallbearers; Marsha Skeen, Rosa Skeen, Linda Screws, Lillie Sanders, Maxine Baxter, Margaret Boyd, Shirlene Griffin, and Frances Hood. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
