Mr. Joel B. Mallory, age 67, of the Corinth Community of Ozark, died Friday afternoon, February 23, 2007 in a Dothan Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, February 26, 2007, from Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Miller, Reverend S. E. Newberry, and Reverend Dr. Stanley Outlaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Sunday. At other times they will be at the family residence. The Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Mallory was born September 25, 1939 in Dale County to the late Lillie Mae Bagwell Mallory and George Thomas Mallory. He graduated from Midland City High School and attended George C. Wallace Vocational Trade School where he received a degree as an optician. He worked as an optician from 1960-1962 with William G. Allen in Columbus, Georgia, from 1963-1974 in Retail Management with Army and Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Rucker and in Tucson, Arizona, from 1974-1993 with Sheffield Oil Company in Ozark and in Dothan, from 1994-2004 in Management with Ben F. Beard Oil Company, Inc. in Ozark and in Troy. Mr. Mallory was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church where he was actively serving as Church Treasurer, Trustee, and on the Building Committee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mallory was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Dollie Mallory, John and Aquila Bagwell, his sister, Louise Mallory, and his father and mother-in-law, Josh and Mattie Lee Ward. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Annette Ward Mallory of Ozark, two daughters and their husbands: Melonie and Ronnie Dobbs of Ozark, Melissa and Stacy Harper of Pansey, Alabama, five grandchildren, Christopher Scott Dobbs, Mallory Amanda Dobbs, Colin Tanner Dobbs, Hunter Brent Harper, and Sara Anne Harper, three Brothers and their wives, Byron T. & Zelmodean Mallory of Ozark, Reverend Paul and Thyra Mallory of Headland, Lewis and Emma Jean Mallory of Cowarts, two brothers-in-law and their wives, Noland Reynolds and Sue Ward, Donnice and Reva Ward of Ozark, also a special friend and business associate, Ben F.
