Obituary of Eugenia Smith

Mrs. Eugenia "Jean" Roberts Smith, age 84,of Ozark, died Monday morning, October 22, 2007, in Raleigh,North Carolina. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, October 25, 2007, from Camp Ground Baptist Church with Reverend Al Sonanstine officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday evening. Mrs. Smith was born June 5, 1923 in Skipperville, Alabama to the late Amanda Lee Dora Shirah Roberts and William Floyd Roberts. She was a lifelong resident of the Ozark area until her relocation to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2006. She was a faithful member of Camp Ground Baptist Church for over 45 years. Until her retirement in 1983, she was a registered nurse at Lyster Army Hospital in Fort Rucker, Alabama. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin G. "Tuck" Smith, her sister, Maureen Hubbard, and her brother, Lajoie Roberts. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Randall Tidwell of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alvin R. "Rusty" and Melanie Smith of Jackson, Mississippi, and Andrew "Andy" Smith of Clover, South Carolina; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Paula and Rupert Willis of Ozark, Hazel and Floyd Buckner of Enterprise, and Carol and Thomas Parker of Ozark; five grandchildren, Will and Kyle Smith, Brooke and Claire Tidwell, and Hollis Smith. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at that day." Service Information
