Obituary of Raymond F. Sharpe

Mr. Raymond F. Sharpe, 71, of Naples, Florida, died Monday, March 7, 2005. Committal services will be held at 10:30 A. M. Monday, March 14, 2005, at Newton City Cemetery with Reverend W. L. Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon. Mr. Sharpe was born in Augusta, Georgia, and lived in Naples, Florida for more than 55 years. He had many stories about the history of "old" Naples. A United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served as a paratrooper. Mary Evelyn Elmore Sharpe, his first wife of 43 years and Mother of his children, preceded him in death in 1999. Survivors include his wife, Janet Sharpe, Naples, Florida, his children, Barbara Nash and her husband, Ralph, Skipperville, Alabama, and Roger Sharpe and his wife, Colleen, Naples, Florida, his grandchildren, Billy and Leslie Nash, Skipperville, Alabama, Christopher, Matthew, Caitlin, and Daniel Sharpe, Naples, Florida, a special sister-in-law, Shirley Paulk and her husband, Sidney, Ozark, Alabama, special nieces, Tammy Danford, Dothan, Alabama, and Teresa Dantin, Panama City Beach, Florida, sister-in-law, Betty Kirkland, Dothan, Alabama, brother-in-law, Ronnie Elmore, Dothan, Alabama, three brothers and three sisters, numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins, two step-sons, Nathan Adams, Wasilla, Arkansas, and Mark Adams, Naples, Florida.
