Obituary of Cecil Ivey

Mr. Cecil Ivey, 84, of Ozark, died Friday, January 15, 2016, at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2016, from Ozark First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Greg Doss officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Enterprise, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Ozark First Assembly of God Church Monday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mr. Ivey was born August 25, 1931 in Coffee County to the late Tallie Claude Ivey and Flossie Maude Cordell Ivey. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ozark. Mr. Ivey worked with DynCorp at Fort Rucker until his retirement in 1994. He was a faithful member of Ozark First Assembly of God Church. Mr. Ivey was an avid hunter and fisherman, but one of his greatest passions was spending time with his family. He and his wife loved to travel throughout the United States. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Eloise McGhee; one brother, Andy Ivey; and his son-in-law, Robert Cruit.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mildred Mae Whitlock Ivey of Ozark; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Cruit, Phyllis and Joe Sexton all of Ozark; grandchildren, Jeremy and Danielle Cruit, Jason and Leslie Cruit, Josh and Kristen Cruit, Brandi and Michael Clark, and Brooke Sexton; eleven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Amos and Mary Lois Ivey, Bill and Lorraine Ivey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janelle and Roy Lownds. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center, 126 Hospital Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
