Obituary of Billy Julius Tullos

Mr. Billy J. Tullos, age 73, of Ozark, died Saturday afternoon, April 14, 2007, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, from Camp Ground Baptist Church with Reverend Al Sonanstine and Reverend Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. His body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Tuesday evening. Mr. Tullos was born May 9, 1933 in Northport, Alabama to the late Beatrice White Tullos and John Ben Tullos. He lived in El Paso, Texas for 44 years where he worked with Southern Union Gas Company, retiring following 42 years of service. He was a member of Coronado Masonic Lodge #1406 in El Paso, Texas and a volunteer with War Eagles Air Museum in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Mr. Tullos moved to Ozark in 1998 and was a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church. He loved people and was always ready to give and help those around him. His happiest times were operating heavy equipment or flying. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, William M. Childress, three brothers, William Lee Tullos, George Dewy Tullos, and J. B. Tullos. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Causey Tullos of Ozark, one daughter and son-in-law, Denise Childress Neal and her husband, David of Liberty Hill, Texas, one son, Billy Tullos, Jr. of Ozark, one brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Frances Tullos of Ozark, one sister-in-law, Marie Tullos of Ozark, three grandchildren, Elizabeth Childress, Matthew Childress, and Jonathan Childress, two nephews, Sidney Tullos of Ozark, and John Tullos and his wife, Cathy of Knoxville, Tennessee, one niece, Frances Tullos Andrews of Denver, Colorado, three grand nieces, two grand nephews, and numerous close friends. Numerous adopted children also survive.
