Obituary of MARK S O'STEEN
Please share a memory of MARK to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mr. O'Steen was a native of Ozark, where he graduated from Carroll High School in 1978. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Regions University with a degree in Sociology. Mark was a member of the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, which was one of the first units deployed to fight in America's war on terrorism. Stationed in Afghanistan, Mark piloted a MH-60, an adapted version of the Blackhawk helicopter, which Army special operations forces use for long-range, low-level penetration of hostile territory at night. Mark loved to eat his Mother's fudge, chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies, and German chocolate cake. He had a passion for boating, had recently purchased a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and was restoring a Nissan 280 ZX; "He was always a busy bee".
