Obituary of Melvin Dorman Peacock

Mr. Melvin Dorman Peacock, 79, of Moulton, Alabama, formerly of Ozark, died Sunday, November 13, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, from Southside Baptist Church in Ozark with Reverend Danny Bynum officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.
Mr. Peacock was born February 11, 1937 in Ariton, Alabama to the late Lunae Allen Peacock and Beatrice Paulk Peacock. He was a long-time resident of Ozark and a graduate of the Ozark High School class of 1955. Melvin worked at the Texaco Bulk plant and for the U. S. Postal Service where he made many friends and acquaintances. He retired from the U. S. Post Office after 30 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Cindy Peacock; and one grandson, Matthew Allen Peacock.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Winnell Hays Peacock; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Allen Peacock of Jasper, AL, Mark and Jennifer Peacock of Moulton, AL, and David and Cyndi Peacock of Gardendale, AL; three grandchildren, Rachel Peacock, Luke Peacock, and Emily Peacock; three sisters, Janice McFadden of Mobile, AL, Elvie Nicholson of Augusta, GA, and Rene Green of Mobile, AL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 3230 Florence Blvd., Florence, Alabama 35634.
