Obituary of Ernest Irvin Mobley

Mr. Ernest Irvin Mobley, age 99, of Ozark, died Sunday, January 3, 2016, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 6, 2016, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Ground Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Mobley was born August 29, 1916 in Tampa, Florida to the late William Irvin Mobley and Mary Elizabeth White Mobley. A welder by trade, he built Liberty Ships with Tampa Shipyard during World War II. He retired from Tampa Shipyard in1980 and moved to Ozark. He was a proud member of the Boilermakers Union and was past president of Boilermakers Union Local 433 in Tampa, Florida. He loved to garden, hunt and fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Carmen Spivey Mobley and Thamosin (Tammy) Thomson Mobley.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry L. and Regina Mobley, of Ozark; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Sandy Houchin of Ozark, Jay and Shirley Houchin of Rock Hill, SC. Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
