Obituary of Madge Simmons Etheredge

Mrs. Madge Patricia Simmons Etheredge, 81, of Ozark, died early Saturday morning, February 24, 2018. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Monday, February 26, 2018, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Jean Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday from 1:30 P. M. until service time. Mrs. Etheredge was born January 26, 1937 in Victoria, Alabama to the late Barney Gilbert Simmons and Edna Lee Williams Simmons. She worked with Michelin Tire Company until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Etheredge; one sister, Gayle Mobley; and two brothers, Barney Simmons and Quenton Simmons. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Jimmy Jones of Ozark, Cindy and Bobby Ward of Ozark; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Steve and Connie Etheredge of Echo, and Keith Etheredge of Ozark; two sisters, Gerotha Heath of Ozark and Mary Thomas of Colorado; seven grandchildren, Christy Claassen (Dr. David), Lauren Van Abel (Ian), Jordan Byrd (Steven), Trent Etheredge (Rachel), Ashley Forbes (Brandon), Seth Etheredge, and Hunter Etheredge; three great grandchildren, Gavin Van Abel, Reagan Van Abel, and Steven Trent “SJ” Etheredge; two step-grandchildren, Kim Kurpes (Keith), and Jason Jones; one step great grandchild, Lane Kurpes.
