Obituary of Ethel Henderson Miller

Mrs. Ethel Pauline Henderson Miller, 89, of Ozark, went to Heaven early Thursday morning, August 9, 2018, following an extended illness. She was residing in Signature Healthcare of North Florida in Graceville, Florida. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Reverend Benjamin Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Chalkhead Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home in Ozark from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Mrs. Miller was born November 3, 1928 in Houston County, Alabama to the late Oscar Zachery Henderson and Mamie Whitehead Henderson. She lived there thirty years before moving to Ozark where she and her husband started Jack’s Upholstery business in 1958. Mrs. Miller worked with West Point Pepperell in Abbeville as a seamstress and also with retail sales. She was an avid gardener, spending many hours working outside tending to her plants. The Miller’s traveled extensively with friends and family. They enjoyed their many fishing trips to Lake Kissimmee, Florida and the trips to the northwest. Mrs. Miller especially loved her family and enjoyed their grandchildren. She was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church in Ozark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, T J (Jack) Miller; one son-in-law, Harold Ratchford; three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Gayle and Randy Outlaw of Ozark, Sarah Ratchford of Columbia; grandchildren, Vicki Hagler (Dennis), Tammy Burt, Ginger Outlaw Dean (Jonathan), Perry Outlaw (Paige), Jeffery Burt (Debra), Neal Burt (Lana), and Ronnie Ratchford (Becky); great grandchildren, Brittany Hagler Martin (Tracey), Sara Grace Hagler, Lara Compton (Kyle), Molly Burt, Rachel Ratchford, Chad Hagler, Nash Burt, Trent Burt, Ron Ratchford, Jake Outlaw, Avery Outlaw, Aniston Outlaw, and Ella Claire Dean. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
