Obituary of James Earl McCray

On Sunday, December 30, 2018, James “Earl” McCray, a resident of Ozark, transitioned to his heavenly home. He was forty-eight years old. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2019, in Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Carl Fryer officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. Mr. McCray will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to service time Wednesday. Earl was born November 16, 1970 in Tuskegee, Alabama to Lillie Mae Pearson McCray the late Robert Earl McCray. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Christian Ann McCray. He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted and loving wife, Linda Jean Thompkins McCray; one son, Jamison McCray; three daughters, Diana Brown, Mercedes Jett and Quianna Troupe (Kraig); his mother, Lillie Mae McCray; two brothers, Willie Earl McCray (Christine), Ricky McCray (Stephanie); five sisters, Geraldine Pearson (Barbara), Robbie Ann Foster (John), Robbie Jean McCray, Lillie Pearl Rowe (Romie), Lisa Foust (Johnny). Nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and acquaintances also survive. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dayspring Hospice for their compassionate and genuine care and concern. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dayspring Hospice, P. O. Box 311246, Enterprise, Alabama 36330.
