Obituary of Jeffrey P. Chancey

Mr. Jeffrey Purnell “Jeff” Chancey, a resident of Dothan and formerly of Ozark, died Sunday, January 6, 2019. He was fifty-six years old. A private memorial service for Mr. Chancey will be held at a later date. Mr. Chancey was born December 21, 1962 at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He grew up in Dothan and attended Dothan High School. Mr. Chancey served in the United States Air Force at Dover Air Force Base before moving back to Dothan. He worked at and managed Baxter’s Package Store for a number of years and was a fan of wrestling and SEC football. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Stephens Chancey; his grandparents, Judge Leslie and Jessie Merle Chancey; Randolph and Laura Flora Stephens. Survivors include his father, Judge Purnell Chancey; one brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Marilyn Chancey; his former wife, Judi Donohoo; step-children, Jamie Donohoo and Shawn Donohoo; grandchildren, Jacie Donohoo, Clay Horne III and Kayla Horne.
