Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your loved one. It is times like these that we need encouragement from loved ones and friends. The Bible has also proved a source of encouragement to many during these times as well. The Bible at 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 tells that God is the Father of tender mercies and that he comforts us in all our tribulations. He does this by means of his word. One such example can be found at Acts 24:15 where it speaks of the resurrection of the dead. This means that you as family have the hope of seeing your dear one again. Also Isaiah 33:24 tells us that one day no person will get sick, so that means when you see your loved one again he will be healthy. Revelation 21:4 tells us that the day when persons cry for the loss of loved ones is soon to be over because it speaks of death being done away. I hope that these thoughts from the Bible will prove to be a source of encouragement to all of the family.

John Swearingen...a wonderful, wonderful man. Useful vessel and pleasing fragrance for God. There is a debt of gratitude for his positive influence in our family which cannot be expressed with words. For this and countless other acts of love and kindness he will be rewarded greatly and mightily by God.

I only spoke to Mr. Swearengen twice on the telephone about the wonderful bed he recommended for those of us in Hospice who spend so much time on bedrest. Because of his kindness and willingness to share information with a stranger I now am so much more comfortable while I fight my own battle with cancer. It may seem like a little thing to most people, but I place him in the same category as the Good Samaritan. Thank you, Mr. Swearengen for a life well lived.

John was like my second father. He took me under his wing and taught me so many things. Not only about farming, fishing or being a hard worker. But trusting in the Lord and doing what's right. John was a great friend.
