I had the pleasure of knowing Steve the past few months. I worked with him on a daily basis and got to know him and the man he was. I know he was a kind man with a big heart. I enjoyed the time that I spent with him. He talked me into buying a puppy from him. :) I will miss Steve and our daily joking around. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Roman and I met Steve through a mutual hunting buddy a few years back. Though I did not know him well, I knew him to be a gentle giant. He was a thoughtful, fun-loving, caring man that enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed greatly. Roman Parnican and the Daniel family would like to express our deepest sympathies to the Monk family.

I first met Steve in 1983. From that day on, our lives were never the same. We did everything together. We rode hundreds of miles through the mud on our 3-wheelers, praticed hundreds of hours at Floyd playing football, and rode many fun miles in Steves' little Toyota. He was the best friend i will ever have. Steve was rare. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Monk Family. We love you.

Steve touched so many lives with his sweet smile and funny little smirk. I missed out on the last 4 years of good times, the river trips, duck hunting stories, etc...but I will always have the "fireworks" memory~our little secret, right? I still chuckle just thinking of it. Love you lots & miss you already.
