Mrs. Beatrice Peacock Childree, age 94, of the Klondyke Hill Community, died Monday, September 27, 2010, at her home.
Funeral services were graveside at 9:00 A. M. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, in Lee Cemetery with Reverend Anthony Tutor and Reverend Dr. Delbert Freeman officiating. Interment followed with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Childree was born May 27, 1916 in Dale County to the late William Greene Peacock and Ida Annette Lee Peacock. She was a member of Spring Hill Methodist Church in the Klondyke Hill Community, and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Childree, Sr.; and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Albert Trawick of Pinckard;
one son and daughter-in-law, Sam Jr. and Linda Childree of Ozark;
three grandchildren, Sherree Smith, Terressa Lewis, and Will Childree;
two great grandchildren, Marlee Smith and Dakota Childree.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lee Cemetery Fund, C/O Linda Childree, 3998 South Hwy 123, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
