Obituary of Gaynell Crooks Dildy

Mrs. Gaynell Crooks Dildy of Ozark died Sunday morning, May 23, 2010, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was 92. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, from Westview Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Reverend Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Tuesday. Mrs. Dildy was born August 4, 1917 in Dale County to the late Jasper Vaughn and Daisy Deese Crooks who were charter members of Southside Baptist Church. She taught school in Arkansas until her retirement, and then retired from the Arkansas Department of Land Management. She and her late husband, James Allen (Jim) Dildy, moved to Ozark in 1978, where she was a member of Ozark Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Earl Crooks. Survivors include her brother, William (Perk) Crooks of Ozark; one niece, Olivia Crooks of Dallas, Texas; one nephew, Teddy Deese, Jr. of Ozark; two great nieces, Tiffany M. Vest and Misty Deese Cason; one great nephew, William J. Guy; one great great niece, Stephanie M. Vest; and a host of cousins and friends.
