Obituary of Gayle Baldwin Morris

Mrs. Gayle Baldwin Morris, age 68, of the Asbury Community of Ozark, died early Sunday morning, May 2, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, from Asbury United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Rick Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the services.
Mrs. Morris was born May 15, 1941 in Dale County to the late James William and Lucille Hughes Baldwin. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1959 and worked with Alabama Aviation and Technical College, Dale County Board of Education, Associated Builders, and Madison Construction Company. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and a dedicated wife, mother, and "grandma". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Zorro Morris in February 2009, and her brother, Roger William Baldwin.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Dexter Day of Crestview, Florida;
one son, Ray Morris of Ozark;
one sister, Jean Baldwin Snell of Ozark;
one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Debbie Baldwin of Ozark;
two grandchildren, Lauren Day and Hannah Day of Crestview, Florida;
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby and Mary Morris of Dothan;
and sister-in-law, Okalee Gunter of Dothan.
Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Morris, Randy Morris, Bibb Gunter, Marshall Griggs, Alan Tidwell, and Sterling Hughes.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, C/O Mr. Marshall Griggs, 845 North County Road 59, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
