Mrs. Sarah Merle Hutto Blacksher, age 81, of Ozark, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010, with her loving family at her bedside and went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Monday, February 22, 2010, from Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Southside Baptist Church Monday from 12:30 P. M. until service time.
Mrs. Blacksher was born December 22, 1928 in Dale County to the late Ellie Early Mathis Hutto and Lemmie Dewitt Hutto. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a longtime employee with Civil Service at Fort Rucker before her retirement several years ago. Mrs. Blacksher was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Blacksher, and one brother, Rex Hutto, all of Ozark.
She is survived by her only child, Wanda Clark of Ozark;
three grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Tucker, Bobby (Tammy) Baird, and Douglas Baird;
three great grandchildren, Taylor, Courtnie, and Melina Tucker;
one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Nancy Hutto of Pensacola, Florida.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, 902 South Hwy 123, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
