Obituary of Jeanie McDuffie Glaze

Jeanie McDuffie Glaze, age 89, of Ozark went to her heavenly home Wednesday evening, December 23, 2009. Heaven has a new angel. She would have celebrated her 90th birthday in January. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Saturday, December 26, 2009, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 P. M. Saturday until service time. Mrs. Glaze was born January 15, 1920 in Geneva County to the late Daniel Gunn McDuffie and Ella Florence Roney McDuffie. She was an active member of Ozark Baptist Church for over sixty years. She enjoyed her volunteer time as a Wiregrass Hospice caregiver. Her mission was to make sure no patient died alone or unsaved. She was the rock and strength of our five generations family. She was never too busy to meet her family's needs. She leaves a legacy that her family will cherish forever. Mrs. Glaze was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Chapman Glaze. Her daughters, Judy Carol Glaze and Debra Glaze Ottaviano, are welcoming her to Heaven also. She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Glaze Thorne and husband Dr. Jack Thorne of Dothan; two sons, Charles Glaze and wife Pat of Dothan; Danny Glaze and wife Petra of Midland, Michigan ; and a son-in-law, Joe Ottaviano of Norris, Tennessee. Eight grandchildren; Terri Thomas of Jacksonville, FL, David Glaze of Echo, Jeff Thorne of Eufaula, Wendy Ridenhour of Slocomb, Spencer and Tyler Glaze of Midland, Mi, Kristen and Joshua Ottaviano of Norris, TN, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church Building Fund, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; Wiregrass Hospice, P. O.
