SSG George Henry Snook (United States Army, Retired), 86, of Ozark, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, December 10, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Chaplain Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 9, 2015, from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. SSG Snook was born October 2, 1929 in Frederick, Maryland to the late Josiah H. Snook and Goldie Stubb Snook. He served in the United States Army for twenty-one years, retiring in 1968. Following his retirement he was a welding instructor with the Alabama Aviation College in Ozark and also was a security guard at Fort Rucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Lee Snook. Survivors include his wife, Lucy Torres Snook of Ozark; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Katherine and Lamar Short of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, Robin and Kenneth Pearce of Ozark, Missouri, and Patricia Hayes of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, George H. Snook, Jr. and Hulda Snook of Canyon Lake, Texas; two sisters, Ruth Warren of Manassas Park, Virginia and Charlotte Runnion of Mount Airy, Maryland; one brother, Paul Snook of California. Thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren also survive. Service Information
