Obituary of Kathryn Pullen Easterling

Mrs. Kathryn Pullen Easterling, age 87, formerly of Clio, died Wednesday morning, April 29, 2009, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama following an extended illness. Funeral services will be graveside 2:00 P. M. Sunday, May 3, 2009, from Pea River Presbyterian Cemetery with Reverend William B. Easterling officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Easterling was born March 29, 1922 in McKenzie, Alabama to the late Claude Lamar and Alma Kate Gulley Pullen. After graduating from Troy State Teachers College she moved to Clio, where she taught school and met and married the love of her life, James T. Easterling. Mrs. Easterling was employed by The Peoples Bank in Clio for 33 years. She served as song leader for numerous churches through the years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted caretaker of her late sister, Eugenia Pullen for over 59 years. In addition to her parents and sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Easterling, her son-in-law, Buddy Knight, and two grandchildren, Kara Knight Evans and Cary Michael Hart. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Kay Knight of Childersburg, Alabama, and Jane and Marshall Weaver of Cottondale, Alabama; grandchildren and spouses: Allen (Amanda) Knight, Jimmy (Michell) Knight, Laralee Knight (Barry) Pennington, Mike (Sharon) Evans, Kristyn Hart (Steve) Pace, and Melissa Weaver; great-grandchildren: Drew Knight, Amanda Evans, Kimberly Evans, Tommy Knight, Theresa Phillips, Austin Foxworth, Jonathan Hart, Allison Hart, Clay Sullivan, and Lane Pennington.
