Obituary of Frieda Zink Hood

Mrs. Frieda Karolina Zink Hood, age 77, of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, February 3, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, February 6, 2009, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Roger Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mrs. Hood was born April 20, 1931 in Sauernheim, Germany to the late George Zink and Barbara Rausch Zink. She attended schools in Germany and graduated from George Wallace College with an associate degree in print setting, majoring in criminology. She was an avid NASCAR Racing fan and enojoyed baseball especially the Atlanta Braves. Mrs. Hood was a loving mother and grandmother. She attended Faith Christian Center in Ozark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Hood, and one granddaughter, Tina Maria Hood. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia H. Council of Stevensville, Maryland; one son, Thomas E. Hood, Jr. of Ozark; one sister, Helga Schaub of Remshield, Germany; one brother, Hanzel Zink of Sauernheim, Germany; three grandchildren, April Carr, Rachel Carr, and Amanda L. Moore; seven great grandchildren, Camron Moore, Mackenzie Moore, Louis Moore, Trinty Moore, Gavin Moore, Promise Sewell, and Heaven-Leigh Sewell.
