Obituary of Lucille Stafford Parker

Mrs. Lucille "Lou" Stafford Parker, age 88, of Ozark, died Wednesday morning, September 3, 2008, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Saturday, September 6, 2008, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend William Hart and her grandson, Reverend Jim Peters, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Her body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Friday evening. Mrs. Parker was born April 25, 1920 in Wilmington, California to the late Harold Mason Stafford and Pearl Owens Stafford. She attended Parkland School of Nursing for three years until her marriage on January 27, 1941. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George Cullen Parker, Sr. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Steve Panjic of Eufaula, Jan and Howard Peters of Ozark; one son, George C. Parker, Jr. of Ozark; one sister, Mary Dunbar of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Reverend Jim (Bonita) Peters, Jody (Lori) Peters, Abe (Christan) Panjic, Matt (Marandy) Panjic, Andy Panjic, Heather and Cullen Parker. Eight great grandchildren also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
