Obituary of Frances B. Garrett

Mrs. Frances Balkcom Garrett, age 88, of Ozark, died Wednesday morning, July 16, 2008, in Oakview Manor Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, July 18, 2008, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert and Reverend Dr. Jason Thrower officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Garrett's body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mrs. Garrett was born October 13, 1919 in Midland City and lived in Ozark most of her adult life. She was a full-time homemaker and assisted her husband in their furniture business, Garrett Furniture Company, until their retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark and the John Wesley Sunday School Class. Mrs. Garrett was an avid bridge player and enjoyed traveling with her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by one grandson, Cole Garrett. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Coleman Garrett of Ozark; two daughters and sons-in-law, June Manor and husband, John of Sandestin, Florida, Rose Grant and husband Jimmy of Dothan; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Anita Garrett of Ozark;seven grandchildren, Clay Garrett, Wes Grant, Wade Manor, Rosemary McKibben, Gina Grant, Ashley Baker, Leslie Manor. Ten great grandchildren also survive. Serving as pallbearers will be Hugh Taylor, Thomas Parker, Clay Garrett, Wes Grant, Wade Manor, and Jack McKibben.
