Obituary of Molly Elloine Tharpe Pippin

Mrs. Molly Elloine Tharpe Pippin, of Ozark, received her angel wings Friday morning, May 2, 2008. She was 82. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, May 4, 2008, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Bobby Ned Peters officiating. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Saturday evening. Ms. Molly was born July 29, 1925 in Barbour County to the late Leroy and Lena Mae Williams Flynn. She worked with the Van Heusen Corporation in Ozark for over twenty-five years until her retirement. She resided in Ozark for forty years where was a member of Harvest Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pippin was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Tharpe, and one brother, Eldon Flynn. Survivors include her stepmother, Thelma Flynn of Carrollton, Georgia; her former husband, Horace Pippin of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mack and Judy Tharpe, Jerry and Diane Tharpe all of Skipperville; two sisters, Betty Bettis of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Madeline Farmer of Columbus, two brothers, Durwood Flynn of Griffin, Georgia, and Eudon Flynn of Decatur, Alabama; four granddaughters, Amanda Tharpe, Michelle Tharpe, Danielle Pylant, and Denise Abercrombie. Three great grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
