Mrs. Christine Simmons Walding, age 78, of Pinckard, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday afternoon, April 5, 2008, in Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, April 8, 2008, from Pinckard Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Stone and Reverend William Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Monday evening. Mrs. Walding was born July 24, 1929 in Ozark to the late Gus and Pauline Baldwin Simmons. She was a homemaker and a member of Pinckard Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Simmons. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Chester Walding of Pinckard; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mikie and Sandi Walding of Dothan and Jeff Walding of Pinckard; one sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Alan Keller of Ozark; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Jayne Simmons of Ozark; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Veleta Walding of Pinckard; two grandchildren, Kyle Walding and Miles Walding. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Service Information
