Reverend Marcus H. Rosser, age 66, of Newton, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, January 3, 2008, from Newton United Methodist Church with Reverend Jerry Glover officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church. Reverend Rosser was born June 1, 1941 in Newton to the late James Marcus and Esther Atkinson Rosser. He attended Newton High School and received his Batchelor of Science Degree from Troy University. He served as a United Methodist Minister for 32 years in the Alabama and West Florida Conference. Reverend Rosser was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. "Fuzz", as he was affectionately called by his many loyal and dedicated friends, enjoyed reading, watching old western movies on television, and Alabama football.Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Arlene McClendon Rosser of Newton; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Robert Baskin of Dothan; one son, Gary Rosser of Ewell; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Patricia "Patsy" R. Johnson of Ozark, Carolyn Borland of Pinckard, and Mary Virginia and Don Showalter of Dothan; one brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence E. and Zeda Rosser of Oak Grove, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Ashley Carey of Dothan and David Marcus Rosser of Ewell; two great grandchildren, Natalie Phillips and Brooklyn Rosser of Dothan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Methodist Home for The Aging, Alabama-West Florida Conference, 100 Interstate Park Drive-Suite 106, Montgomery, Alabama 36109; American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street-Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama 36301; or Alzheimer's Resource Center, P.
