Mr. Milton Eugene Deese, age 83, of Ozark, died Sunday morning, December 9, 2007, at his home following his courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, December 11, 2007, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy West and Chaplain Jack Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. His body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Monday evening. Otherwise, they will be at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, 5353 County Road 18 in Ozark. Mr. Deese was born September 5, 1924 in Dale County to the late Earle Floyd and Maude Skipper Deese. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Later he worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker and was engaged in farming. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Helen Maund Deese of Ozark; two daughters and sons-in-law, Reta and Robert Dyson of Ozark, Nancy and Romano Spinelli of Hoover; three sisters, Mable Hillestad of Ozark, Syble Woodham of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Jeanette Williams of Ozark. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church, Challenge to Grow Fund, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama 36360, or to Compassionate Hands Hospice, 712 West Maple Avenue, Geneva, Alabama 36340.
