Obituary of Helen Payne Newman

Mrs. Helen Payne Newman, age 70, of Skipperville, died Thursday evening, March 15, 2007, in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, March 17, 2007, from Skipperville United Methodist Church with Reverend Forrest Weekley officiating. Interment will follow in Bersheba Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the Church from 12:30 P. M. Saturday until service time. Mrs. Newman was born October 25, 1936 in Skipperville to Jewell Hughes Payne and the late Levy Payne. She attended Dale County High School and worked with Dr. L. D. McLaughlin for 20 years as Office Manager. She was a member of Skipperville United Methodist Church, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her father, Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her son, Keith Newman, and her brother, Levy Payne, Jr. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Ray Newman of Skipperville, three sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Pam Newman of Pike Road, Roy and Angie Newman of Auburn, and Mark and Priscilla Newman of Tallassee, her Mother, Mrs. Jewell Hughes Payne of Skipperville, one sister, Robbie Harris of Skipperville, one brother and sister-in-law, Don and Ellen Payne of Wetumpka, four grandchildren, Sarah Newman, Payne Newman, William Newman, and Wyatt Newman. The family requests that food be omitted. Service Information
