Mrs. Bernice Johnson Dykes, age 92, died peacefully at her home in Dothan Tuesday, February 20, 2007, following a brief illness. Formerly of Ozark, Mrs. Dykes moved to Dothan in 1998. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Dr. Joseph L. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 P. M. Wednesday until service time. Mrs. Dykes was born March 27, 1914 in Dale County to the late Clyde and Susie Parker Johnson. She was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband J. R. Dykes, two sisters, Sallie Jo Crews and Vivian Hughes, and one brother, James Johnson. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, James E. J. Dykes, Larry K. and Ronna Dykes, and Charles Lane and Jacquelyn Dykes all of Dothan, grandchildren, Chad L. Dykes and his wife, Lindsey, Stacie R. Dykes, and John Connor Dykes, great grandchildren, Cole Dykes, and Carson Dykes. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to your favorite charity.
