Obituary of Thomas Glenn Weeks

Mr. Thomas Glenn Weeks, Sr., 89, of Ozark, died Sunday morning, November 19, 2006, in Oakview Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, November 21, 2006, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with the Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert, Reverend Dr. Billy Gaither, and Reverend Marty Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the Church Tuesday from 12:30 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. Mr. Weeks was a native of Dale County, the son of the late John Calvin and Lena Boyette Weeks. He was executive director with the Ozark Housing Authority for 34 years, and served on a number of city, civic, and community organizations. Mr. Weeks was a member of Claybank Masonic Lodge #908, and also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark and the John Wesley Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Johnson Weeks, three brothers, J. T. Weeks, Bill Weeks, and M. L. "Mufty" Weeks, one sister, Johnnie Mae Barefoot. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Mixon and her husband, David Mixon of Johnson City, Tennessee, three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas G. Weeks, Jr. and his wife, Charlotte Weeks of Duluth, Georgia, John H. Weeks and his wife, Nelda Weeks of Ozark, William L. (Bill) Weeks and his wife, Pamela Weeks of Clifton, New Jersey, one sister, Mary Mattie Dillard of Dothan. Six Grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and John Sanders also survive. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Ozark, 167 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360, or Wiregrass Hospice of Dothan, P. O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Alabama 36302.
