Obituary of W. James Hudson

Mr. James Hudson, age 74, of Ozark, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Crosby officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday evening. Mr. Hudson was born September 22, 1931 in Hardburly, Kentucky, to the late Vernon Cassandra Combs Hudson and Clarence Albert Hudson. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring following over 20 years of service in 1970. He had lived in St. Petersburg, Florida until making his home in Ozark in 1972. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Hudson, his sister, Jeanette McDaniel, and his nephew, Alon Hudson. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Richard Simmons and three grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, and Alexia Simmons, all of Atwater, California, one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Rocky Gries of St. Petersburg, Florida, a special nephew, James McDaniel of Kelso, Washington, three nieces, Vicky Jochum and Tracy Luttrell of Largo, Florida, and Cindy Hunt of Orlando, Florida, three other nephews, Donald Ray Hudson, III of Birmingham, Ted Smith of St. Petersburg, and Donald Ray Hudson, II of Aurora, Indiana.
