Obituary of Willie Ray Bell Stephenson

Mrs. Willie Rae Bell Stephenson, age 84, of Ariton, died Sunday evening, March 5, 2006, at her home following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Stephenson at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 from King's Table Worship Center in Midland City with Reverend Michael Senn and Reverend Sheryl Senn officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the Worship Center one hour prior to service time. Mrs. Stephenson was born August 31, 1921 in Coffee County to the late Cornelia Godwin Bell and L. F. Bell. She enjoyed fishing, reading, and traveling. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephenson was preceded in death by her son, James C. Jackson, two brothers, Alvie Horace Bell and John P. Bell, and her other mother, Melissa Johnson Bell. Survivors include four daughters, Jennifer Whitman and husband Frankie of Ozark, Rebecca Burton and husband Larry of Brundidge, Michelle Stephenson of Orlando, Florida, Janelle Leach of Navarre, Florida, two sons, William M. Smith and wife Gwyn of Tallahassee, Florida, and Henry A. Jackson and wife Mary of Columbia, South Carolina, three sisters, Dollye Berry of Brundidge, Bertha Poss and husband Don of Lompoc, California, Merle Golson of Mexico Beach, Florida, one brother, Algum Bell and wife Merle of Ariton. Fourteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360, the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street, Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama 36301, or to your favorite charity.
