Obituary of LTC Roger D Trickler

LTC (Retired) Trickler was born August 19, 1936 in Clinton County, Ohio and graduated from Troy State University with a Masters of Science Degree. He was a charter life member of the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA), the Retired Officers Association (TROA), life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), executive member of the Society of the First Division, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Association of the United States Army (AUSA). He retired from the United States Army in 1981 following 27 years of service. Colonel Trickler was a highly decorated war hero, serving two tours in the Vietnam War. He so dearly loved flying, and attained his Master Army Aviator rating. He was awarded the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, two Bronze Star awards, Air Medal of Valor with 17 subsequent awards of the Air Medal, numerous service medals in addition to the Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Citation, and Meritorious Unit Citation. He was an active member of Daleville First United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board, Pastor-Parrish-Relations Committee, and Board of Trustees.
