Mrs. Powers was born in the Shiloh community, now Fort Rucker, and graduated from Dale County High School. She was a member of Chalkhead Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, pianist, and the first Vacation Bible School Director. On her 50th wedding anniversary the Senior Adult Women's Sunday School Class renamed their class in her honor. She was a devoted gardener, homemaker, seamstress, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother Service Information
