MSgt. (Retired) Brantley was a native of Jefferson County, Alabama, having lived in various locations while serving in the United States Army. He retired as a Master Sergeant following 33 years of service. He then worked for 11 years with Civil Service at Fort Rucker. He was a member of the Masonic Order.
