Miss Thomas was a native and life-long resident of Dale County where she was a devoted member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a retiree of the Bank of Ozark. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, serving for many years as Church Treasurer and as an Elder. She also attended and actively participated at Skipperville United Methodist Church.
