Obituary of Susie Viola Griggs Thomas

Mrs. Susie Viola Griggs Thomas, 81, of Ozark, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be graveside 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 18, 2016, in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Greg Doss officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Thursday evening from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mrs. Thomas was born November 20, 1934 in Egypt, Alabama to the late Archie Griggs and Bertha Elizabeth Brooks Griggs. She was a registered surgical nurse and a member of Ozark Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Archie Obryant Griggs.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James Oscar Thomas of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Gregory and Karen Thomas of Ozark, Richard Lee and Sherry Thomas of Columbus, Georgia; three grandchildren, Christopher Thomas, John Thomas (Sundrea), and Heather Thomas; three great grandchildren, Tazlina Joy Thomas, Ava Thomas, and Esther Thomas; two sisters, Nema Hughes of Ozark and Lura Key of Skipperville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Myasthenia-Gravis Society, P. O. Box 590105, Birmingham, Alabama 35259-0105; or to your favorite charity.
