Obituary of Jewell Marshall

Mrs. Tina Jewell Smith Marshall, age 94, of Ozark, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Monday, June 20, 2016, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Harry Circle and Reverend William Hart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Sunday from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Mrs. Marshall was born January 16, 1922 in Dale County to the late Hezekiah E. and Fannie Lee Smith and was the youngest of fourteen children. She was of the Baptist faith and one of the oldest members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was married to the late Mr. Curtis B. Marshall for seventy years before his death in 2008. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Marshall; two daughters, Patricia Anne Wallace and Nettie Merle Hataway; three sisters; ten brothers; one son-in-law; one granddaughter; one great granddaughter; and one great-great grandson. Mrs. Marshall is survived by four daughters; Margaret Dykes (Sam); Peggy Langford (Aubrey); and Deborah Childree (Greg), all of Ozark, AL, and Sarah Burkett (Phillip) of Soddy Daisy, TN; one son-in-law, Alton Wallace; one sister-in-law, Emma Lou Smith of Colquitt, GA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
