Obituary of Twedell Bain Wilson

Mrs. Harritte Twedell Bain Wilson, 86, of Ariton, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral services will be graveside Friday, January 9, 2015 New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Roten with Reverend David Walsh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the family residence Thursday from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M.
Mrs. Wilson was born April 16, 1928 in Birmingham to the late Harry Bain and Beulah Lee Williams Bain. Her family moved to Opp, AL when she was seven years old and she graduated from Opp High School. She married D. Kyser Wilson before he left for World War II, and upon his return they lived in the New Hope Community of Coffee County. Mr. Wilson farmed until forming The Farmers and Merchants Bank in Ariton where Mrs. Wilson worked until the bank was sold to Colonial Bank. She was a member of the Ariton Matron’s Study Club and the Ariton Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D. Kyser Wilson.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Larry Armstrong of Panama City, Florida; one son, Chris Wilson of Ariton; grandchildren, Parker and Kelley Armstrong, Nicholas and Lauren Armstrong, Courtney Clemens, Ryan and Ann Marie Wilson, Morgan and James Jordan, Lacy and John Phillips, and Hannah Wilson; great grandchildren, Jayden Jordan, Dalton Jordan, Layton Jordan, Brigham “Briggs” Kyser Wilson, John Sawyer Phillips, Kyser Clemens, Ally Armstrong, and Ava Elise Armstrong.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ariton Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 27, Ariton, AL 36311; or to the New Hope Cemetery, Inc., C/O Ben Wilson, 3988 County Road 105, Brundidge, AL 36010.
